Boa Vista means “good view” in Portuguese and this name will certainly not disappoint you. The island got this peculiar name at the time of its discovery, a ship tossing in the waves reached the island and sailors who saw a mainland after a long time, reported happily to the captain: “Boa Vista” instead of usual “Land on the horizon”.

The island engages your attention by sands with white, fine sand and crystal clear water. There is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world on the island – Santa Monica. However other beaches such as Ponta Varadinha that lines rocks with mysterious caves or Cabo Santa Maria, Praia de Cheva.
