Procedure for body and soul

Lake Salinas can be titled as a nature relic and one of the biggest attraction on the island.

Water is 26 times salter than in the sea and because of the high density is practically impossible to dive.

So that the water buoys both body and soul. Everyday problems dissipate during a relaxing bath in this beautiful scenery.

Visitors make use of the physical characters of the lake especially for treatment of psoriasis, eczema and other skin diseases.

The lake is titled as “the Dead Sea of Cape Verde” thanks to its characteristics and healing effects.

Swimming in the lake literally represents a cosmetic procedure. Locals recommend to use the mud from the bottom of the lake, too.

They recommend tourists to apply it on skin and let it work for 15 – 20 minutes and wash by fresh water then.

This kind of mud mask cleans the skin perfectly.

The only imperfection is the entrance fee. However the fee isn’t high and tourists are willing to pay for guaranteed experience.

Changing rooms, toilets and showers with fresh water are at disposal for visitors.

It is possible to eat in a bistro or visit a shop selling souvenirs in the form of packages of bath and table salt on the shore of the lake.
